Ever since listening to the Artemis II astronauts (who touched down in San Diego, by the way!) speak of their unfathomable experience rounding the moon and gazing down at Earth from up there, I’ve been thinking a lot about space.
Would you go to space if you could? I think I’d like to see how small we are from up there.
From Andromeda What an unlikely thing, These trees and buildings and warmth And sanctuary in emptiness, And you and I, Just a thin atmosphere away from Depleting, Instantaneous death. A nearly impossible feat, Life on a breathing planet. Such slim chances that you and I Exist at all, Let alone breathe this same air. From a galaxy away, We are not even here yet— Both many centuries past And now, Existing at once. Perhaps we’re even living a previous life, On two sides of the globe That can only be seen together From all the way up there. What magic To breathe at all, To cry, to smile, To simply look you in the eyes.

Chills! What magic it is to know each other 💕
